Before a record rain fell yesterday, Journey, Heart and Cheap Trick managed to get in their Friday night triple-bill show at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. Packed with soaked Loyal Loopers, the show was nonetheless a night to remember... as much for the great performances as the conditions. Of particular note was the stunning performance of new Journey singer Arnel Pineda. A native of the Philippines, he was discovered (much like Boston's current singer) by the band via a video posted on YouTube.

After an 8 year absence, AC/DC is back with a new CD entitled "Black Ice" which will be released on October 20th. A little over a week later on October 30th, the Loop brings AC/DC back to Chicago for a show at the Allstate Arena. Tickets go on sale this weekend through www.wlup.com.
